After enjoying a banner PSA career --- especially in 2000, when he reached the final of the British Open and was ranked a career-best No. 4 --- this multi-talented Australian has compellingly transferred the shot-making artistry and imaginative shot-selection that were the hallmark of his singles career to the ISDA tour, resulting in 19 championships, including five straight Cambridge Club Doubles from 2004-08 (two with Damien Mudge, one with Jamie Bentley and two with Gould), which had been the longest active individual ISDA doubles-tournament winning streak other than the eight years running in which Mudge has triumphed at Heights Casino. In leading the tour in outright winners each of the past few years, Price has revolutionized the left-wall position by the frequency with which he “turns” on the ball, thereby opening up the court and availing himself of open angles for his forehand thrusts into the right corner or down the middle; indeed he is the only right-handed left-waller to hit as many winners on his forehand as on his backhand. In addition to being the head squash pro at the Toronto Racquet Club, he is also a talented professional musician (see his web site paulpricemusic.com) who in fact recently performed with Mark Seymour, the lead singer/songwriter and guitarist of Hunters & Collectors, one of the top rock music bands in all of Australia.
