This young gun-slinging Philadelphian and (with his father Steve) reigning three-time U. S. Father & Son national champion has won his main-draw first-round match in all four of the autumn 2009 events that he entered while compiling a 6-4 record than includes a 4-1 mark in five-game matches. He and Tim Porter reached the quarters in both Rye and New York (defeating Willie Hosey/Mark Chaloner and Eric Vlcek/Yvain Badan respectively, both times in five games and both times after surviving route-going last-round qualifying matches) and the semis of the Wilmington Challenger event, and Park also got to the St. Louis Challenger semis with James Hewitt as his partner, there to lose to Imran Khan and Tom Harrity after leading two games to love. Park has also advanced to the ’08 Silver Racquets finals with Addison West and he and Rob Whitehouse captured the Jimmy Dunn tourney in their “home” Philadelphia Racquet Club in both ’07 and ’08 before their bid for a three-peat was stopped in late-November by John White and Sonny Hunt, who rallied from 11-14 to 15-14 in a nail-biting semifinal.
