The only American ranked in the top 16 other than Preston Quick, this Philadelphia-born and -based power-hitting right-wall specialist (who DID play the left in the three-straight U. S. Father & Son titles that he and his father Steve won from 2007-09) rocketed into the top 10 of the ISDA rankings last season after being No. 36 one year before. The highlights of Park’s past season and a half have been three semifinal advances with James Hewitt (in Cleveland last season, where they upset third seeds Quick and John Russell, and in Baltimore and Philadelphia this past autumn, both times at the expense of Dan Roberts and Greg McArthur) and Germantown Challenger tourney that he and Imran Khan captured last spring at the final-round expense of Hewitt and Mark Price, an especially meaningful milestone for Park given that it was at the host site that he had learned the game as a youngster. Prior to turning pro last year, he reached the semis of both the 2008 U. S. National Doubles with Rob Whitehouse and the 2007 U. S. National Mixed Doubles with Dana Betts.
